Lockwood 1st Middle Twp Republican Mayor since 1930s

Middle Township once again has a Republican in the Mayor’s Office. Congressman LoBiondo was on hand to ceremonially swear in Committeeman Dan Lockwood to his new post before the standing room only crowd while Freeholder Director Jerry Thornton swore in Committeeman Tim Donohue as Deputy Mayor. It is believed that the last time Middle Township had a Republican mayor let alone a majority on the Township Committee maybe as far back as 1936.
